Developed by Yardley et al. in 1992, the VSS measures symptom burden rather than handicap, making it distinct from disability-focused measures. The VSS is valuable for characterizing symptom clusters, monitoring symptom progression, and evaluating treatment response in vestibular and central dizziness disorders. | The Anxiety Sensitivity Index–3 (ASI-3) is an 18-item self-report questionnaire that measures anxiety sensitivity—the tendency to fear bodily sensations and interpret them as signs of impending threat.
