Fytolit-analyse — Analyse af plante-siliciumlegemer

Fytolit-analyse er en laboratorieteknik, der anvendes til at identificere og kvantificere mikroskopiske siliciumlegemer, der aflejres i planteceller, og som udvindes fra jord, sedimenter eller arkæologiske kontekster. Fordi fytolitter bevares længe efter, at organisk materiale er nedbrudt, er metoden central for rekonstruktionen af fortidens vegetation, afgrødehistorier, arealanvendelse og jordudvikling inden for agronomi, paleoøkologi og arkæobotanik.
