ভ্যান ওয়াগনার ক্রাউন ফায়ার মডেলটি সেইসব পরিস্থিতি ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী করে যেখানে সারফেস ফায়ার সক্রিয় ক্রাউন ফায়ারে রূপান্তরিত হবে এবং ক্রাউন ফায়ারের বিস্তারের হার কেমন হবে। ১৯৭০-১৯৯০ দশকে কর্নেলিয়াস ভ্যান ওয়াগনার কর্তৃক বিকশিত এই মডেলটি পৃষ্ঠের শিখা থেকে ছাউনিতে তাপ স্থানান্তরের পদার্থবিদ্যা এবং উল্লম্ব শিখা প্রসারের হারের উপর ভিত্তি করে তৈরি। এই মডেলটি ক্রাউন ফায়ারের বিপদ মূল্যায়ন করতে এবং উচ্চ দাহ্যতাসম্পন্ন বনভূমিতে জ্বালানী ব্যবস্থাপনা সংক্রান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণে সহায়তা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
