It is widely used in psychiatric research and clinical practice to assess the functional impact of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other conditions, complementing symptom severity measures by capturing real-world impairment. | The Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology is a 16-item assessment designed by A. John Rush and colleagues to efficiently measure the severity of depressive symptoms in adults. Published in Biological Psychiatry in 2003, the QIDS exists in both self-report (QIDS-SR) and clinician-rated (QIDS-C) versions.
