بحث اختبار النماذج المقارن هو تصميم كمي يتم فيه اختبار ومقارنة نموذجين أو أكثر مدفوعين نظريًا - أو نفس النموذج المقيم عبر مجموعات أو ظروف متميزة - بشكل منهجي باستخدام مؤشرات الملاءمة، واختبارات نسبة الاحتمالية، أو معايير المعلومات. الهدف هو تحديد النموذج الذي يمثل بنية البيانات بشكل أفضل، أو ما إذا كانت بنية معلمات النموذج ثابتة عبر مجموعات المقارنة.
