النظرية المتجذرة متعددة الحالات هي تصميم بحث نوعي يدمج منطق الترميز الاستقرائي للنظرية المتجذرة داخل إطار منظم متعدد الحالات. بدلاً من توليد النظرية من موقع واحد أو مجموعة مقابلات واحدة، يقوم الباحثون بجمع وتحليل البيانات بشكل تكراري عبر حالتين أو أكثر مختارة بشكل هادف، باستخدام المقارنة المستمرة داخل الحالات وعبرها حتى يتم الوصول إلى التشبع النظري. والنتيجة هي نظرية جوهرية متجذرة في أدلة تجريبية غنية عبر مواقع متعددة.
