اختبار البلاسيبو البايزي هو استراتيجية تفنيد للاستدلال السببي تطبق الاستدلال البايزي على سيناريوهات البلاسيبو - سواء كانت علاجات وهمية في فترة ما قبل التدخل، أو على وحدات غير متأثرة، أو عند نقاط قطع وهمية - للتحقق من أن تأثيرات العلاج المرصودة لا يمكن أن تنشأ بشكل معقول عن طريق الصدفة أو من نموذج غير محدد. يدمج المعلومات المسبقة وينتج توزيعات لاحقة لتأثيرات البلاسيبو للمقارنة الاحتمالية المباشرة.
