ΣύνοψηField-based autoethnography is a qualitative research design in which the researcher immerses themselves in a specific physical or social setting and draws on their own lived experience within that field to produce analytically reflexive accounts. It blends the systematic observational practices of ethnographic fieldwork with the first-person introspective voice of autoethnography, generating knowledge that is simultaneously personal, cultural, and contextually grounded.Participatory ethnography is a qualitative research design in which community members are not merely subjects of study but active collaborators throughout the research process — from problem formulation and data collection to analysis and writing. Building on classical ethnographic fieldwork, it shifts the researcher–participant relationship toward genuine partnership, producing knowledge that is accountable to the communities from which it emerges.
